I would query the date of 1957 for the closure. I was at Manchester University from 1961 to 1964 and a keen hillwalker. I have a contemporary note from 1963 that I walked in a group of 4 from Crowden up Little Brook to Black Hill and then down Chew Brook to Greenfield. I remember the day as Black Hill was even more squelshy than usual - like sinking up to your thighs squelshy if you weren't careful. We would not have been able to do this except by taking the train to Crowden and back from Greenfield. Can some railway buff please check this please? Thanks for the quick (no pun intended) answers. We must have got off at Woodhead Station which was apparently still open in 1963. Mike Spathaky ( talk) 21:59, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
