I've refactored this out of List of Irish flags as I don't think the formats are standardised, so it's misleading to list them with flags of well-defined layout.
Some things that need to be done:
( Gnevin 12:15, 3 October 2006 (UTC))
Thanks for those. I've done made them bigger and taken out the Cork flags picture, purely because there's not enough text yet to fit three pictures. jnestorius( talk) 23:12, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
The belief that these county colours, or rather flags, are exclusively GAA is erroneous at best (that is the way they are presented here by both the title and text of the article). See for instance [1] [2]. They are more than simply GAA symbols, just in the way the Irish tricolour represents more than simply the state, or part of it. Djegan 13:45, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
While each county council has a coat of arms, there are no official county flags. Flags with the GAA county colours serve as ersatz county flags
The current 'sky blue' colour being used for Dublin's colours is too dark by several shades, I think. Bastun 15:18, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
What is this the purpose of this field ? ( Gnevin 15:42, 1 October 2006 (UTC))
Should we add the colours of leinster and others ( Gnevin 22:19, 3 October 2006 (UTC))
The Armagh flag looks a bit too like the Antrim one. Think it needs to be a bit more orange (no offence intended!). Will use the colours from their jersey. Afn 11:59, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually the collours are right, it's Internet Explorer thats wrong. Afn 13:40, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I suggest moving to County colours of the Gaelic Athletic Association to disambig gaa in title or County colours of the GAA ( Gnevin 22:45, 10 October 2006 (UTC))
I was asked to give some tips on improvement. I am not very familiar with this subject, but I'll give it a go.
Hope this helped :) Inge 11:31, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Galway's colours are maroon and white, not red and white as the flag shows. Jvlm.123 15:30, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
I've moved this back to "Talk:GAA county colours". I think including "flags" in the title is misleading, since there are no standardised official flags. The text makes this clear. jnestorius( talk) 18:05, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Just noticed this: Written Answers - County Flags Dáil debates Wednesday, 14 September 2011; Vol.740 No.1 p.113:
There are some (not very good) photos of the flags in question in this blog post. A similar (but better) photo would enhance this article. The flags seem to be the newer style with the county crest in the centre. jnestorius( talk) 18:33, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
The article lists the Offaly colours as green, white, and gold. I'm almost certain that this is wrong, and that the actual colours of Offaly are green, white, and yellow. (Note: The flag of Ireland itself is green, white, and orange, but is often inaccurately described as green, white, and gold. Perhaps some confusion is creeping in?) Jnestorius, would you be able to clarify what the image used is of? The caption says "Fans of Tyrone (red and white) and Meath (green and yellow) on Hill 16 in Croke Park watching the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 2007 semifinal." but the image description says it was taken at the quarter-finals, so the teams would have been Sligo, Cork, Tyrone and Meath.
