Propose merge

Coso people, so far as I can tell, is an old name for Timbisha Shoshone, who already have a page. This page seems to be talking about the Coso petroglyphs, which are under Coso Rock Art District, and Coso obsidian, which is under Coso Volcanic Field. I suggest anything useful be split out and the page redirected to Timbisha. Megalophias ( talk) 18:48, 17 August 2022 (UTC) reply

Agreed. The Coso ("Kosotsi") were just another group of Timbisha inhabiting the Coso Mountains around Darwin and south into the modern area of the China Lake Naval Weapons Center. There was nothing distinctive about the culture or language. See Julian Steward, Basin-Plateau Aboriginal Sociopolitical Groups (1938, Smithsonian Institution), pages 80-84.
