Departmental councils merger

Does this department still exist? According to the article "The two Corsican departmental councils were merged on 1 January 2018 to form a single collectivity, with territorial elections coinciding with their dissolution.", and it is no clear whether this departmental councils merger means also territorial merger of both departments. Supranacci, Suttanacci

The assertions here and in Haute-Corse that the demonyms "Supranacci" and "Suttanacci" mean "Northerners" and "Southerners" appear specious to me insofar as they are obviously based on the "supra" and "sutto" (compare Italian "sopra" and "sotto") meaning "above" and "below", not "north" and "south". And, after all, Haute-Corse is Upper Corsica, not "North" Corsica, even though Corse-du-Sud does mean "Southern" Corsica. Largoplazo ( talk) 22:53, 23 November 2020 (UTC) reply

It's unsourced in both places and so obviously incorrect to me that I've removed the translation in both articles. Largoplazo ( talk) 22:58, 23 November 2020 (UTC) reply
