This article needs some serious work. It should talk about copyright protection technologies and focus less on issues which belong in either copyright or intellectual property.

I removed the weird stuff about how this term should be avoided and cleaned it up to be a straight disambig. The article on copy protection technologies is copy protection. Tempshill 17:44, 7 March 2006 (UTC) reply

Copy Protection vs Copyright Protection

Digital copyright protection *is* a valid term and does not equate to a mismomer of copy protection - see here: http://www.watermarkingworld.org/faq.html#SECTION00024000000000000000 --MatthewKarlsen

I challenge the claim that "copyright protection" is a valid term - what that FAQ is talking about is tagging a file as being copyrighted. You could claim that "copyright protection" is a valid description of this, but it's a neologism, and Wikipedia isn't a soapbox to promote neologisms; and in any case, in 99.99% of cases where people use the term "copyright protection", they are just trying to say "copy protection" and don't quite know the term.
