Kadet/Kadets or KD-ets/KD-tsy (KD/KDs)?

The name "kadet" suggests they had (ridiculous) military pretensions. Might it be an English-language misunderstanding of a Russian word KD-ets (plural KD-tsy), "member of the KD"? If so, "KD" (plural "KDs") might be a better translation. Hcunn ( talk) 05:51, 16 September 2021 (UTC) reply
