This article has been checked against the following criteria for B-class status:
"Technically, military service with the PLA is obligatory for all Chinese citizens."
Is this sentence necessary? The phrasing states that "military service is obligatory" and then immediately refutes that exact statement. The conscription service is referred to as similar to the US Selective Service System multiple times in the article, and yet, it would be considered strange to say that "military service with the United States Armed Forces is technically obligatory for all male American citizens," and I'm sure that other countries with similar systems don't have the byline that "technically" service is obligatory. Seems like unnecessary coloring.
