What does Complutense mean? -- Zoe — Preceding undated comment added 03:11, 7 March 2003 (UTC)
I wondered if that's a mistranslation - a School of General Studies would seem to make more sense. But maybe there is a different use of Study as a noun that applies here? - IMSoP 18:39, 4 February 2004 (UTC)
Perhaps the article name should be "Complutense University" or "Complutense University of Madrid", as that seems to be the official name in English? -- Jonik 16:09, 2 December 2004 (UTC)
NO - the university has no official name in English. Furthermore, "Complutense", taken from the Spanish, is incorrect in English. The correct term would be "Complutensian", meaning "from Compluto", the Latin name of Alcalá de Henares. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deisenbe ( talk • contribs) 22:48, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Self-nomination. Extensive rewriting and reformating over the past few weeks. Well-balanced information, substantiated by facts. Let's see how it goes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamesmcneilwhistler ( talk • contribs) 20:44, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
The current state of the Republic and Franco sections are verbosely POV. -- Error 21:20, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Please make sure to read the Good Article criteria and take a look at Tony1's redundancy exercises. Once these issues are addressed feel free to re-nominate, Good-luck. M3tal H3ad 09:39, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
The initial sentence lacks a subject:
According to the annual university rankings conducted by El Mundo,[8], with its Schools of Philosophy, Spanish Literature, History, Pharmacy, Optometry, Journalism, Psychology, and Sociology holding the top national rankings.
Makes no sense without one.

Image:Alfonso XIII of Spain.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"Complutense" is not an English word, or even formed with an English suffix, while "Complutensian" is an English word. So why isn't "Complutensian" used in the title of this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.225.21.78 ( talk) 21:49, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
