I'm going to put a peer review request on this page. Then hopefully we can enlist the help of other Wikipedians and turn this into a good article!

I agree, this deserves a much more elaborate article. I made added some small edits and extra paragraph spacing.

Types of colonial war
Do we really need that list at the bottom with all possible permutations? Can't we just say that colonial war involves the conflict between colonists, foreign armies, and indigenous peoples? Would look better in my opinion.

No, we don't really. I made a small paragraph that summerizes the concept, with a couple of examples.

Agreed. I've chucked in a couple more examples for good measure. Have you seen the new mitrailleuse page btw? Looks prety good!

Yes, I saw it- a impressive effort. Was a bit shocked at first, but it does look pretty good. I think we need a different wording for the introduction of this article though. A 'type of warfare' to me normally a method of fighting (e.g. chemical warfare) rather then a type of even that occurs. I suppose this is different just different angles on the meaning of 'war' though.

Surely a war of the type "Between colonial power and colonist" is one such as the Algerian Civil War's uprising by the Colons- and the Boer war stands as an example of a War of Conquest?
