Possible things to add information about:
It is said elsewhere (though citation needed!) that “searchlight”-type signals remain in use on this line. Anyone know why? Is this a holdover from some experimental programme of bygone days?
This article (Clapton) mentions a 25kV electric-traction experiment. Does this line have a history of being used for field trials / experiments?
