Complex variance

The term "variance 1" is not unequivocal (since the random variables are complex). Having Variance#Generalizations in mind, perhaps it is better to emphasise that it is the unit matrix? Sasha ( talk) 20:50, 12 June 2011 (UTC) reply

sketch of proof?

Is there any chance of adding a proof sketch for this? The Tao and Vu paper superficially looks readable but I'm sure that's deceptive. The circular law sounds sort of like a central limit theorem--is that an obvious resemblance? Thanks. 67.117.144.57 ( talk) 11:06, 16 March 2012 (UTC) reply

The link to Tikhomorov links to a zoologist who has died long time ago. It would make sense to unlink? or to link to some nonexistent page? 2001:808:114:6:2D2B:6ADE:7D4D:BBC2 ( talk) 14:27, 23 November 2015 (UTC) reply

The symbols A and B are used without definition. What do they mean? 131.112.112.6 ( talk) 07:55, 30 November 2015 (UTC) reply

Relation to Wigner semicircle law

Can someone elaborate the difference between circular law and Wigner semicircle law? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.112.54.158 ( talk) 04:29, 3 November 2017 (UTC) reply

Uh, this one is a uniform distribution over complex eigenvalues, that one is a non-uniform distribution over real eigenvalues? — David Eppstein ( talk) 05:07, 3 November 2017 (UTC) reply
