I removed this statement as Christophe Lemaitre is not the firmst man of European Descent to run under 10 seconds. He is the first WHiote man. Justin Gardener is born in Bath and is mixed race. Therefore he is of European Descent also Patrick Johnson has an Irish mother and is also of European Descent . Both Patrick and Jason Gardener have run under 10 seconds before Lemaitre — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.135.163.172 ( talk) 20:26, 3 September 2011 (UTC) ]
I also removed the part about him being the fastes non-west African as Frankie Fredericks is the fastest non west African as he recrded a time of 9.86 in 1996
It's my opinion that this entire statement about Lemaitre being the "first white man to run under 10 seconds" is stupid, and I've removed it. This insistence on making a distinction between "black" and "white" is an affront to human dignity and indeed practically everything the Olympics stands for (or is supposed to). Haven't we moved on from the Berlin games? Stop doing it. What are we going to write when someone from China runs under 10 seconds -- that it was a "yellow" man? Just stop already.
It's Christophe Lemaitre and not Christophe Lemaître, there is an error in IAAF website : « Lemaitre sans accent circonflexe ». GabrieL ( talk) 08:21, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Christophe Lemaître → Christophe Lemaitre — dixit Christophe Lemaitre in Lemaitre, enfant du paradis, there isn't accent on I of Lemaitre. There is an accent on "maître" ("master" in French) so there was a confusion when registration at IAAF's files but no accent for Christophe Lemaitre fr:Lemaître/Lemaitre. GabrieL ( talk) 13:06, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Christophe Lemaître → Christophe Lemaitre — The previous move was reverted with no valid reason, also the title is not coherent with the article content - As Christophe Lemaitre stated himself, his name does not have any accent, see previous move request or french page 88.181.4.221 ( talk) 21:30, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Support – This shouldn't have been moved in the first place. Correct spelling is without circumflex. Jared Preston ( talk) 09:45, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
I think that number needs a good review. 36 km/h is approx 10 m/s lol Perhaps the person was watching the slow motion version. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.71.93.102 ( talk) 03:51, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
