The main author contacted me on my talk page about this article's naming. It is more concise than the one used in the 20th century flood article, which is a plus. Referencing a religious holiday is a zero...not a plus nor a minus, but be aware that people might challenge it. As long as the flood is not referred to any other way/name by a slew of search results, this name is as good as any other, in my opinion. The two December 1964 floods on the century flood page have been merged, since they do seem to be one and the same. Thegreatdr ( talk) 04:56, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
I would like to see more on nw california, specifically the effects on Humboldt and Del Norte counties. Many small towns in the Eel River valley were wiped off the map, and the area was isolated from the rest of the world for quite some time, as all roads leading out of the region were destroyed. Portland Corps has a great photoset of CC-BY images from the flood, which I'm working on transferring to Commons. MB298 ( talk) 20:07, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
