Only a few years ago I listened to an interview on Melbourne radio station 3AW with Chrissy and singer/broadcaster Denis Walter (born 1953) where they were cheerfully talking about their time together at being CLASSMATES at Belmont High School. If Chrissy was born in 1959 and Denis was born in 1953 this would be impossible. Is there some way that we can get Denis Walter to verify this? She was clearly not born in 1959! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Newfalconer ( talk • contribs)
Chrissy was in the only Australian production of Let My People Come which opened in Melbourne in 1976 and closed Nov 1977. This was an adult only play thus proving that Chrissy was not born in 1959. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.147.141.37 ( talk) 11:10, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Numerous edits against the age of Chrissy. I have yet to see any evidence that she was born in 1959. Have any of you read Pleasure and Pain? Chrissy was clearly NOT born in 1959. This myth that she was born in 1959 is clearly exploded if you read the book. One example is the fact that she supported Zoot, a band that broke up in May of 1971.........that would make Chrissy 11 and a half! There are countless others. The fact she was in the same class as former Geelong Mayor Mr Shane Dowling, born 1954 and 3AW's Denis Walter born early 1955 is further proof Chrissy was not born in 1959. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.147.141.37 ( talk) 07:02, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
I have proof of Chrissy's real age. I was her next door neighbour and have some of her mail from 30 years ago ( she asked me to collect it for her). I have her drivers licence renewal form from 1983 and Yes, she was born in 1954. Also, the name on the document states her name as "Christine" not "Christina"
No doubt someone will soon provide proof other than the 3AW audio links that Chrissy was actually born in 1954. Like the case of Molly Meldrum proof might be available in TROVE. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.131.184.15 ( talk) 08:54, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
Cannot believe that the myth that Chrissy was born in 1959 continues. The truth is out there and here is hoping that somebody can finally resolve this. A search of Belmont High School records would help to bring this to an end. It is also believed that the radio industry site 'Jocks Journal' has proof of her 1954 birth. Time to get it fixed people once and for all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.21.14.36 ( talk) 22:09, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

Will not be closed until someone provides a school enrollment, birth notice or other document that shows her year of birth. Purely nonsense to say it is closed when so much point to the correct birth date of 1954. Belmont High School has records of when she attended the school. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.168.73.228 ( talk) 07:09, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
Far from fired up here, I will just wait for the true year to sourced, might be tomorrow, next year or five years from now. Now can I ask you a question? What was an not quite 12 year old doing playing Sydney clubs in 1971?
Wow, it is amazing if you go onto the Belmont High ex students facebook page! Ex Class mates were all born between 1954 and 1955. Chrissy was born 24 October 1954, it is time the truth appeared here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.150.37.22 ( talk) 20:44, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
Well those year books that show her in form 3 (year 9) in 1968 and form 4 (year 10) in 1969 must be figments of peoples imagination or maybe Chrissy was only 9 in form 3? That means she was potentially a child genius? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.150.37.22 ( talk) 04:07, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
Although mentioned in this entry and in the news coverage of her death (though not in the Herald Sun reference given), I have been able to find nothing that suggests radiotherapy is contraindicated for people with multiple sclerosis. It is possible that there is something in Chrissy Amphlett's specific circumstances that means the treatment was not possible for her, but unless a reference that supports the claim is available, the implication that the treatment is not available to anyone with MS seems misleading. Shaggy359 ( talk) 11:22, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
There seems to be almost as many references who claim her birth name was "Christina Joy Amphlett" as those that claim "Christine Joy Amphlett." APRA lists her as Christina Amplett as a co-writer for 'Boys in Town'. There is also a redirect from Christina Amphlett but not from Christine Amphlett. Does anyone have her autobiography or a definitive source? FlatOut 04:18, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
Has anyone ever come across of any of Chrissy's classmates that match her pretend age? Those pretend people have never come forward, the class of 1977 were never in the same class as Chrissy! Why are you trying to propagate the lie that she was born in 1959? She was born in 1954!!! See the commenter in the Real Age section who had to collect Chrissy's driver's license renewal - it said 1954!!! Also, Divinyls formed in 1980! I'm just trying to get the facts out and you're trying to propagate nothing but lies!!! Fokker T I SM 12:08, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
There is audio on the net of Chrissy speaking to Denis Walter about being in the same class at Belmont High and that in itself is more than enough proof Chrissy was not born in 1959. Try and explain otherwise. I think you will find Vince Lovegrove is the person responsible for dropping her age! He done the same with Angus Young some years earlier but that all came out in the wash. By the way Chrissy is older than Angus but that is not surprising she was active in the industry prior to Angus was. Also she was in an R rated play in 1976, decipher that one please! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.221.147 ( talk) 10:03, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Sorry but that was posted in good faith! All I want is the right date of birth for Chrissy, it is not my account but someone who was visiting me today who is related to the Banbrook family, unfortunately it won't let me back in either. I assumed at the time when we posted that all could see it. Now that I have seen it I am determined that I will find other items to prove once and for all the 1959 birthdate is a myth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.147.156.200 ( talk) 09:54, 22 September 2013 (UTC) So it continues, the lie of 1959 continues.
