{{editsemiprotected}} Chris Hardwick said on Sirius XM's Opie & Anthony Show August 12, 2010, that he was named after American sportscaster Chris Schenkel, who was the ABC announcer for the Professional Bowlers Association for 36 years. Hardwick is the son of former professional bowler Billy Hardwick. Chris told a story of when his mother was once speaking about the pregnancy with Schenkel about the family was expecting a girl. Schenkel said if it is a boy name it Christopher and the mother said OK. Obviously it was a boy, thus the name Chris.

I just had a friend message me (since I know about Wikipedia and she doesn't) saying that she clicked on the Nerdist link and got a mess of malware. I'm on a Mac, so I can't verify this, but is there any sort of process or check one can do? EVula // talk // ☯ // 22:13, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

please change "Christopher Ryan 'Chris' Hardwick" to either "Christopher Ryan 'Big C' Hardwick" or "Christopher Ryan 'Chris' Hardwick aka "Big C" due to his recent appellation with said nickname during a "hostful" episode of the Nerdist podcast. alternatively, in keeping with his insistence that "Big C" is a euphemism for cancer, change his listed name to "Christopher Ryan "Cancer" Hardwick"

I'd like to see more detail on how Chris Hardwick is not Aaron Paul, I think many people are confused on this controversial topic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.34.130.22 ( talk) 22:17, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Is this notable? Lots of people quit drinking alcohol. I'm not seeing the relevance/notability? - DMurphy ( talk) 04:29, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
Well he was an alcoholic for many years, so I think it's completely notable, just like drug problems are mentioned in other articles. 121.45.146.55 ( talk) 06:02, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
Should't it be mentioned somewhere that he was in The Rock of Ages when the show was in LA? With all due respect, BrianGriffin-FG ( talk) 02:34, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
The article says he currently writes for "Web Soup" a show on G4 which was cancelled a long time ago. (This year I think) Cwjakesteel ( talk) 03:34, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

In the info box there is a "Medium" section. But since he works in more than one medium, shouldn't it be a "Media" section? 174.49.253.180 ( talk) 01:59, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
Interestingly enough, on today's @Midnight (airdate: 11:59pm@2014November20, aka 00h00@21November2014) he (Hardwick) posted a phone number for Taylor Swift to text. [(III.II.III)IV.V.0-VII.VIII.V.V] if rendered Roman. So this was publicly posted and announced (several times) on television by the person in question. It should be available at [1] (In the pre-title sequence, right at the top of the show) -- 67.70.35.44 ( talk) 07:40, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Chris mentioned in episode 702 of the Nerdist podcast that he recently purchased half of puny animation. This should be added to his career section.

FYI, a note you could consider adding is that Lydia's mother (and Hardwick's new mother-in-law) is the Patty Hearst. Although Lydia is linked to her own article, Patty is only lightly mentioned there, too. No statement of her notability is given. Added tidbit - the Hearst-Hardwick couple purchased a Los Angeles mansion in late 2015 for a record price. http://variety.com/2015/dirt/real-estalker/lydia-heart-buys-los-feliz-mansion-1201628104/ Thank you, Wordreader ( talk) 05:01, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
During a webcast or television broadcast, Hardwick frequently says something like: "Enjoy the burrito!" Does anyone know what that reference signifies (and has a source for the explanation)? I've been curious about it for a while, now. Thank you, Wordreader ( talk) 04:50, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Delete the final phrase in the last section "the very website that he has co-founded." We've made it clear that he co founded the site. It's offensive because the only purpose for this phrase is to diminish the accusations. Should they later prove false, that information itself will be included Lotsofjoy ( talk) 19:35, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

In the first paragraph, Hardwick should not be listed as the former host of the AMC shows. The only statement given so far by AMC is that Talking is on hold until they further "assess the situation" as per the citation [1] given on the page. Insusurro ( talk) 00:27, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
Is the full text of Hardwick's statement regarding the sexual assault allegations somewhere online we can link to? The current link is just a summary of the statement, which I can't seem to find anywhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.243.192.37 ( talk) 00:41, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

I agree with not including the whole text, but using a source that has his entire statement rather than a summary seems more complete to me. Either way, its easy enough to find the full statement on several sites. Insusurro ( talk) 04:51, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
