This article needs a proper geology section, explaining how the Chilean Central Valley formed. The Geology of Chile and Chilean Coastal Range articles says that the Coastal Range separated from the Andes during the Tertiary because of the Chilean Central Valley's subsidence, but neither article explains what caused that subsidence. - Gilgamesh ( talk) 01:04, 4 February 2022 (UTC) reply
