Why is Serge Gainsbourg, Charlotte's father, described as "Jewish-French"? To be consistent, should we not describe Jane Birkin, Charlotte's mother, as "Christian-British"? 24.239.152.153 ( talk) 02:06, 1 January 2009 (UTC) tt
The term "Jewish" can both refer to a particular religion OR ethnicity of people. Your analogy is incorrect. 68.3.218.35 ( talk) 06:11, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Note: for the record, since there some questions are raised about the categories ( Category:French Jews, Category:Jewish singers), she openly considers herself as jewish (ref: interview in French at http://membres.lycos.fr/cgainsbourg/officiel.html). I don't consider this important enough to add it to the article, but others may have a different opinion. — Xavier, 23:43, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Birkin is Jewish too. So Charlotte, a daughter of two Jews cannot be "British-French", the description being hilarious. 46.53.176.248 ( talk) 12:10, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
Is there any reference/evidence for her birth name being Ginsburg? The Serge Gainsbourg page has his birth name as Ginsburg because this is how it is spelled on his grave, but this proves neither his birth name nor hers. 135.196.2.145 ( talk) 10:00, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
At present this articles uses the {{ Infobox musical artist}} template with "solo_singer" as background code. I think she is best know for being an actor. The length of her filmography as compared to her discography seems to support this. In that case we should use {{ Infobox actor}}. Debresser ( talk) 14:35, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
What exactly does 'Origin' in the Infobox mean? If she was 'Born' in London, then how can her 'Origin' be France? Seems very strange to me. 77.97.171.215 ( talk) 19:36, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

JackTheSecond, regarding Special:Diff/1208234459: I don't think the presence of "due" changes the meaning at all, it's just incorrect here. You attribute something to something, or something is due to something, but you can't *attribute something due to something. Rummskartoffel 21:28, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
