Supporter of Nationalism?

The article says that 'Although he stood as an independent, Stewart was also a supporter of Irish nationalism.' It cites 'Bob Purdie, Politics in the Streets', but does not give a page number. The 2 references to Stewart in that book (pages 74 and 77) both describe him as an Independent. I therefore propose to delete the sentence quoted above.
