Woo, I see conflict when this artical is discovered. (anon 20 May 2005)

Hmm. It is pretty much a loose translation and digest of material in the Catalan Wikipedia. -- Jmabel | Talk 23:40, May 20, 2005 (UTC)

I see that someone is now asking for verification. I'm afraid I can't properly give any. I translated from an article in the Catalan Wikipedia back in the days when our verification standards were much looser. I ran it past a friend who is native Catalan and very much a scholar of Catalan culture (I've seen his personal library, it's worthy of a professor) and who said that it largely rang true. He is the one who told me that a lot of this could be found in the writings of Joan Amades. So that would be where to look if someone wants to build a citation apparatus. - Jmabel | Talk 06:54, 8 December 2006 (UTC) reply

It also looks like just after I translated it, Catalan-language Wikipedia Xevi, who originally created the Catalan article cut a great deal of the article. He's still active, someone might want to talk to him about this. - Jmabel | Talk 07:02, 8 December 2006 (UTC) reply

Doesn't this need a rewriting in an encyclopedic manner? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.75.70.12 ( talkcontribs) 19 March 2007.

That's rather vague. If you have concrete suggestions for improving the article, please go for it. - Jmabel | Talk 17:00, 8 April 2007 (UTC) reply

Proposed deletion

I'd really rather see this salvaged than deleted, but it would take some work. As remarked above, my Catalan friend who is not a Wikipedian and would rather not be named says that it seems at least generally correct and that it corresponds to what he has read in the work of Joan Amades. I don't have access to that work, but someone who does and can read Catalan could certainly do the research to do a proper article here. - Jmabel | Talk 14:32, 24 August 2022 (UTC) reply

I will point out that roughly the first half of the Catalan-language article is now decently cited, and that someone could translate that in lieu of what is here. - Jmabel | Talk 14:34, 24 August 2022 (UTC) reply
