She was twice named international Female Vocalist/Entertainer of the year in Houston,Texas competing against such notable performers as Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell, Tammy Whynette and Anne Murray to name a few. Carroll Baker was the first Canadian performer to do a television special in Nashville and from the stage of the Grande Ole'Opry. She has performed in London, England at the London Palladium and Wembley Stadium. She was the first Canadian country music performer to receive certified Gold and Platinum records for her record sales in Canada. She also received a Gold album in Australia for her album Hymns of Gold. Carroll Baker continues to tour and perform to sell out shows and keeps making new fans wherever she performs. As a songwriter she has scored several number one records with songs she recorded herself, and has had others record her material, from Canada's Eddie Eastman, to superstar Tom Jones. She has had more than twenty number one records and her record sales are in the millions world wide. She has recorded duets with Eddie Eastman, rock and roll legend Jack Scott and famed Roger Whittaker. Having appeared on televiion in Canada, The United States, The United Kingdom and throughout Europe has gained her popularity that makes every Canadian proud to have her as a daughter of Canada. A proud Canadian she is, and has never left her country to live elsewhere. Only a few other Canadian super stars have remained as patriotic as she has. Carroll Baker is one of Canada's brightest shining Northern Lights. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.50.48.246 ( talk • contribs) 03:19, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
