Although I am not able to correct it, Eloy Alfaro was not removed as president in 1911 for being "unwell", but for having tried to force his already elected successor to retire and enable Alfaro to serve another term. Alfaro then had to flee from the country due to military forces acting against him. At the end of 1911 he returnd (his brother Flavio was president in rebellion in their home region of Manabí then). He was defeated, imprisioned and soon afterwards killed by a crowd. His body was burnt in a public park in Quito.
