Carey Schueler is notable for being the first woman ever to be drafted by a Major League Baseball team. Disregarding the fact that it was more likely than not a publicity stunt, it is still notable due the steadfast gender barrier that persists in the big 4 (MLB, the NBA, the NFL and the NHL), and other North American sports leagues that are wholly male dominated. Taking into account both the notability and presence of refrences for this page I do not believe it should be deleted.
