I've never been convinced about the Record Label idea of Kremmen's surname. Kremmen is also a town in the German State of Brandenburg. Did Everett find that out after chosing Kremmen and then added the Brandenburg? Or had he perhaps seen the signs on the motorway to Berlin? Had he ever been to Berlin? I guess we'll never know now. - According to his authorized biography (p.231), he got the name Kremmen from a series of radio comedy discs called "Superfun" produced by Mel Blanc and his son. One of the regulars in the series was voice actor Bob Arbogast, and he came up with Kremmen, as a fictitious brand name for spoof commercials. These were heard by Everett in his Radio London days, and he revived the name for his space captain, and used some of the Superfun spoof ads in the Kremmen series. I'm guessing Brandenburg reflects his love of classical music - as in Brandenburg Concertos by Bach - (he was one of the few pop radio DJs to often drop a classical tune into his shows, as well as turning some classical favourites into jingles) Producer Al ( talk) 19:06, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

- Only source I can find says 1977-79, which ties in reasonably well with my recollection of listening to it when possible as a small Mr Larrington. Mr Larrington ( talk) 13:16, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- I've just been listening to some recordings of Captain Kremmen a friend gave me (about 25 hours of it); the theme music from
Star Trek: The Next Generation, which was first aired in 1987, is used in some of the episodes, so at least some Kremmen was still being produced in the late 80s.
