I replaced one dead link and removed the rest that apparently were tagged (not dated) July 18, 2011‎. It is better to have a "citation needed" tag than a long term dead link and tag. There are also controversies surrounding judicial override of a juries decision to sentence a defendant to life imprisonment and impose the death penalty instead. Alabama is the only state where this happens. Delaware and Florida used to allow judge discretion but only used it in the opposite direction (death penalty to life imprisonment) and both systems were struck down in 2016

This is not true. Florida has on multiple occasions overruled a jury and sentenced a defendant to death.
