In 2020, the airport came under new ownership and has a new name.
Anyone connected to the new owners should NOT edit the page directly. Instead, they should propose specific changes to this talk page, and put {{ requested edit}} as the first line of the body of their comment. davidwr/( talk)/( contribs) 15:42, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
Good Day
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. Need clarification on status of renaming. |
I work for the company who owns the Cape Winelands Airfield. We have renamed it to Cape Winelands Airport as it is more correct and accurate, and because our operating license has been issued in the name of Cape Winelands Airport, not Airfield. Our Google Business Account is also in the name of Cape Winelands Airport.
Please could you therefore change the title of the page to "Cape Winelands Airport"? If required, I can provide a copy of our operating license issued by the South African Civil Aviation Authority which is in the correct name of "Cape Winelands Airport".
Thanks

Good Day
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
I appreciate your response and understand your reasoning for declining my request. The renaming is complete and we have now updated our Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts to "Airport". Our website is taking a bit longer because we are making some wholesale changes.
Please see below for links to our social media accounts which all contain the updated name, as well as a media article published today with confirmation from our director of the new name:

Hi there
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Following from my first request and it's resulting decline of it, we have updated all of our social media pages and website from "Airfield" to "Airport" as well. This Wikipedia page is now the last to be renamed.
I trust that this is now in order and that there is no more evidence of bias, and that this page could therefore be renamed to "Cape Winelands Airport".
Thanks -- Capewinelandsairfield ( talk) 21:32, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
