This article currently does not appear consistent with Wikipedia articles for other college athletes with more exposure. It uses a number of direct quotations that do not add to information about him. It has a number of uses of incorrect grammar (for example: He was again known for his second year letterman.). The section about his college career is overly detailed; there is no valid reason why it should include specific statistics from dozens of his individual games.
Additionally, the article has some bias and improperly displays emotion without using any sources. Examples: "Cameron is one of the finest defensive linemans in NCAA", "sadly his father is not here", citing that Heyward was a scholar athlete in high school without stating what this means (and then citing his below average SAT score), etc.
The previous version of this article might cut out a lot of information, but the current version has way too much information. That notwithstanding, it has some consistent grammar issues and biases. Considering Heyward hasn't won any major awards or done anything more noteworthy than been a defensive contributor for the Buckeyes, there simply isn't enough information about him to warrant him having a Wikipedia entry as large as it currently is. I'm inclined to revert this article back to its version by 173.89.184.105, but will hold off for a couple of days to see if anybody else has an opinion. Briskbaby ( talk) 19:25, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
I agree with the things you said about what I wrote, but I don't really know another way to make this article into a concise, unbiased article. I wrote this article for a project, and I was wondering what kinds of information I can add to make it into an legitimate Wikipedia article.-- Chunggsu ( talk) 20:03, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
You can feel free to add some information as you deem fit, but make sure that it's relevant, unbiased, and unemotional. Coming from an OSU fan, I agree that Heyward's a good player, but don't just say "Heyward is one of the best defensive linemen in the NCAA" - you can quote somebody on it and attribute the quote, but disregard all opinions. I don't deny that it's a tragedy his father died before his 40th birthday, but whether or not it's a tragedy is opinion, not a fact. Additionally, there's simply no pertinent reason why statistics for most of his individual games should have been posted. If he did something particularly noteworthy, like returned an interception for a touchdown in the closing minutes of an OSU-Michigan game that was decided by two points, that's noteworthy. However, just saying "he had x tackles against this team. And he had y tackles and z sacks against this team" adds little but clutter.
Unfortunately, if you wrote an article on Wikipedia for a project, odds are somebody will eventually alter it. You might want to recommend to your instructor that a private wiki be created so people can't come and go, making alterations as they deem fit. Briskbaby ( talk) 16:49, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
