I am an alum of one of the schools. This reads like an ad for both, appealing to nerdy high school seniors by distracting them with trifles to hide high rates of binge drinking, suicide, etc. MIT has done hacks for a long time, but this "rivalry" is only recent (there is a much longer history of hacks against Harvard). Is there some kind of sock puppetry / astroturfing going on here by the advertising wings of either or both schools? â Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.7.71.26 ( talk) 12:47, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
I don't know why someone thinks this started in 2005. I arrived at Caltech in 1978 and there was already an MIT prank history then (though not at the more recent level). ( Erniecohen ( talk) 11:47, 23 October 2012 (UTC))

http//caltechrejects.com redirects to MIT's website. Should this be mentioned in the article? It's been registered since 2013. 71.121.204.181 ( talk) 19:38, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
