is this person probably related to Nietzsche's ubermensch? I just wonder if that's worth adding to the article -- Andersmusician NO 21:07, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Why is this page full of Socrates (presumably ironically) talking about what a great guy Callicles is? There are passages in Gorgias that much better describes Callicles actual opinions. They should be more relevant to an article about Callicles. I have a translation of Gorgias but it is copyrighted in 1960 so I presume I cannot use it here, even though the original is not copyrighted any more. The "Passage" section consists of a long passage, spoken by Socrates, that may or may not relate to the essence of Callicles' thinking. I thought that Wikipedia considered long quotes unencyclopedic. Why can't we describe Callicles' doctrine and exemplify it with a short quote? Lestrade ( talk) 03:08, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Lestrade
