Despite what the California Streets and Highway Code currently defines it, the portion between La Habra and West Covina is not currently signed or maintained by Caltrans. I cannot find evidence that Colima Road in Rowland Heights is or has been officially part of SR 39, as adopted and maintained by Caltrans. Thus it should be treated like any other unconstructed portion. Alternatively, we could list the former routing along Hacienda Road instead. Zzyzx11 ( talk) 03:49, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
Whittier Boulevard in La Habra to Route 2 via Harbor Boulevard to the vicinity of Fullerton Road, then to Azusa Avenue, Azusa Avenue to San Gabriel Canyon Road, San Gabriel Avenue southbound between Azusa Avenue and San Gabriel Canyon Road, and San Gabriel Canyon Road, other than the portion of the segment described by this subdivision that is within the city limits of Azusa, Covina, and West Covina.
Again, no mention of Colima Road, and I could guess why there is not a specific route there: SR 60 runs parallel to that segment of Colima Road, so I suspect that Caltrans could easily also have an alternate plan to have SR 39 join SR 60 between Fullerton Rd and Azuza Ave. That segment of Colima Road is also where the Puente Hills Mall is, so with the traffic being generated there that is another reason why I would like to see a more explicit source. Thanks. Zzyzx11 ( talk) 00:55, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
