Cache Creek was originally known to the Hudson's Bay Company trappers as Rivière la Cache [1].

Yeaar round hunting is now allowed, because of the wolf problem.
The geography in the lead was totally wrong. I fixed it (maybe with too much detail -- a map would help!), but I'll move it to a new section (or to hydrology?) and summarize everything in the lead.
