can somebody teach me how to do this unlocking of cpu's, especially the amd processor? =========email me: rey@anbonn.com thanks a lot for your help.............

Sorry, someone removed the link for the pinmod howto :-(

I think it's very useful, but may be I'm wrong.

This guide offers the pinmod for Socket A processors (CPU unlocking, Vcore Mod, Multi Mod, etc)

http://www.ocinside.de/html/workshop/pinmod/amd_pinmod.html

Pinmodding Yonah/Merom processors seems to result in some sort of anti-overclocking protection to kick in when using Intel chipsets. This restricts the processor to a 6x multiplier. See http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6535988.html for the Intel patent. [1]

Merging

This should probably be merged with overclocking and honestly could do with some more references as is. I don't know how to mark it a stub or recommend a change on the main page, so I'm appealing to people who might know. 129.89.32.111 ( talk) 20:31, 20 March 2008 (UTC) reply

Prices

Intel usually has one or two Extreme Edition CPUs on the market, leading their range in clock speed and starting at $999-1499 USD.

Excuse me, $999 dollars for an Intel Extreme Edition processor? I think not.-- DarknessEcko ( talk) 09:25, 19 January 2010 (UTC) reply

$999?

Uh, "you think not" why? I'm looking at a bloomfield 3.33ghz Intel i7 - 975 Extreme Edition processor at this very moment on newegg, and it's actually only $989. Limit 5 per customer Lol! Still a rather ridiculous price, but the article IS accurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.23.8.76 ( talk) 10:39, 31 January 2010 (UTC) reply

Needs Update

The information on this page is extremely dated, and no longer correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dkaleita ( talkcontribs) 12:33, 21 February 2013 (UTC) reply
