The article states that Jay was the first to "leave" the band, but I seem to recall that there was quite a controversy at the time, a legal case, claims that she was assaulted. The "leaving" was extremely acrimonious.
Indeed the split was acrimonious, in as much as Jay had fucked Andy Hill (Producer)who tyen fired her. Mind Jay was the only one with any real talent. 'The Fizz' would have been nothing without her, that Cheryl Baker should be grateful to Jay, even though she was vile about Jay!! The old cow.
I seem to recall that Mike Nolan actually went through the windscreen on the bus, and although coming close to death, due to head injuries, made a good recovered, but suffered from epilepsy.
The band was manufactured, for the Eurovision Song Contest, each member of the group was contracted on a fixed wage (IIRC) of £40,000 a year. Even at that time was not a lot of money. There was some controversy regarding their win, as the song alone was supposed to be judged (not the performance). The act of ripping off the skirts (to reveal a mini-skirt) was considered a factor in their (slim) win. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.106.151.191 ( talk) 22:35, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
£40,000 back then is over £100,000 today. Not too shabby when you've been playing pubs and cabaret up till then. Would you turn it down?-- 82.0.207.86 ( talk) 20:53, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

i always think "fuck bizz" when i'm actually reading or hearing "bucks fizz". where does the name stem from? is this really a coincidence?
Is it right to list them as English when Mike Nolan was born in Dublin?
It doesn't list them as English, but British. Sure, one member was Irish born, but the group was based in Britain. Mike Nolan was raised in England as well as the fact that every member through the years has been British as well as their management and producers. They also represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest. To list them as British/Irish would be much more misleading. Tuzapicabit ( talk) 13:37, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
According to its Wikipedia article, the Falkland Islands has a population of just over 3000 people. No, I don't know whether that includes the military base, but even so...
I can just about buy that they'd do a show there, but a "tour" on a sparsely-populated archipelago of 3000 people. Seriously? No.
I'm getting visions of some Father Ted meets Spinal Tap-esque scenario with them playing to ten people and twice as many sheep. Ubcule ( talk) 21:23, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

A fair bit of this article covers the dispute between the two bands Bucks Fizz and The Fizz, and obviously their stories are very much linked, but I feel there are problems about featuring both on the same article. Should "The Fizz" not have their own article? Combining them makes the article rather confusing. For instance, what is Bobby G doing on the picture for The Fizz? Which band is referred to when a picture is labelled "the band" ?
The legal dispute has made it clear they are different bands, so they should have separate articles. Thoughts? -- Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:25, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
