On 28 August 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved to Brics, Olius. The result of the discussion was moved to Brics, Spain. |
The result of the move request was: moved to Brics, Spain. Mergers are outside of the scope of the RM process and should be discussed separately. ( closed by non-admin page mover) – Material Works 18:49, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
Brics (municipality) → Brics, Olius – We don't typically use "(municipality)" to disambiguate Spanish place names, and we especially shouldn't here, since Brics isn't actually a municipality. When sub-municipal places in Spain need disambiguation, the typical DAB of choice seems to be the name of the municipality that includes the place; here, the municipality is Olius, so that's the DAB I've proposed. Looking at the category that contains this article, parenthetical disambiguation appears to be the most common style for sub-municipal Spanish places, but I've opted to propose comma-separated disambiguation instead as I feel that's more WP:CONSISTENT with how we disambiguate populated place names in other parts of the world. Finally, another title I'd accept would be Brics, Lleida, which is less WP:CONSISTENT with similar articles but may be more comprehensible to the average reader. Where there is no Wikipedia convention on a specific country and disambiguation is necessary, it is generally reasonable to use [[placename, nation]]...Appears to be a distinct hamlet (with a church, which suggests it was once more significant than it is now), so passes WP:GEOLAND. -- Necrothesp ( talk) 12:48, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
