Why are they called Breton lais if they aren't written in the Breton language? Arthurian Legend 03:13, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
I think we should merge this with the Lai article that already exists. Arthurian Legend 03:15, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
The sentence about Marie de France in the introduction seems problematic to me. It's certainly not uncontroversial to claim that Marie was 'an English poet', and, indeed, her own Wikipedia article claims she was probably born in France (and then lived in England). Similarly, her dates are sketchy, so it seems better to be a bit less assertive on that point. I know it's a bit pedantic, but it seems best not to make definite claims like that given the paucity of evidence. :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Findlayjy ( talk • contribs) 09:04, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
