An editor, without reference, asserts Lornsen received a
Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis (then called "Jugendbuchpreis") in 1968. The article on the award does not list him as the winner.

This was taken from the German article, and has since been corrected there. Apparently, the book was only nominated for the award, but didn't win. --
