Oxxford Hunt Greenway

Although misspelled in some sources, the correct spelling is with the double xx. The trail gets is name from a Cary development with the same name, now cited as a source for the article. Sorry if I confused people by misspelling it in the first place and thanks to the anonymous editor who fixed it. Rublamb ( talk) 23:18, 8 November 2022 (UTC) reply

Continental Can Company

The lake is shown in some maps as Continental Can Company Lake (and dam). I suspect the company had a site there, but have no further information at hand. It would be interesting to find out why the dam was built initially and how long ago. ke4roh ( talk) 14:03, 6 December 2022 (UTC) reply

Sometimes a mistake gets replicated online. I am finding that Continental Can Company Lake is in Johnston County (but I have not double checked that with a US Geological Survey topo map). The source for this article says Bond Lake was created in 1970 by the US Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service. In the 70s, I recall swimming and boating were not allowed in the lake because it was a back up water source for the town. Of course, any dam on Crabtree Creek also was to help with flood control.
