What is the source for this listing? For what it's worth, "Mariner's Mirror" (1941) has an article that lists the schooner Express but not Satellite, Saracen, or Jasper. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.200.17.52 ( talk) 13:14, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
How do we want to deal with the fact that Saracen at least was not in the order of battle? Even James states that she remained behind at Gibraltar, though he is wrong on that as was in Bermuda at the time. Whatever we do, we need to do it in a way that ensures that in the future someone who finds James' listing doesn't re-insert her name. Incidentally, it looks like the Mariner's Mirror article is correct. Saracen wasn't there, and Satelite and Jasper only got as far as Gibraltar. Acad Ronin ( talk) 12:30, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
Hello,
None of the usual reference lists (Demerliac and Roche) for the French Navy mentions a frigate Ciotat, and I can hardly imagine a 40-gun frigate escaping their attention. Can we trace where this information come from, in the hope of clarifying the matter?
