I agree so I have removed it. I found some other origins - Bodan Hamm (Bodan's water meadow)

I notice that the excerpt from the licence to crenellate in the page on Bodiam Castle refers to the manor of "Bodiam fat man, by the sea". Now that might be vandalism, but if not, that's a weird name for a village in its own right...
