| This article completely misrepresents the whole Berosini situation. In the original trial, it came out that the reason the orangs were upset was because of deliberate antagonism by the complaining dancer and others, in order to get said video footage. I attended a talk by the investigating veterinarian that the USDA sent to do the initial investigation. He later testified for Berosini at the original trial. I don't know if my recollection of the talk is sufficient for editing the article though, and would like some guidance. I do remember that the so-called metal rod that was involved was actually a 14" wooden dowel wrapped in electrical tape. During the trial, the PETA lawyer while cross examining the veterinarian, asked him on the stand " How would you like it if you were hit with a 14" wooden dowel". The veterinarian replied that he didn't think it would hurt much at all, and invited the lawyer to hit him with one. The lawyer quickly changed the subject. Also, the revoking of his USDA license was completely uninvolved with the case or any abuse issues, and was reinstated later.
