Given the Dutch history of the area ( Schouten Islands), my guess is that it's pronounced the Dutch way as [blʏp blʏp] (ʏ is roughly like the second u in future). It is also a way in which the sound of bubbling-up gases would be transcribed in Dutch. Thayts ••• 11:15, 14 January 2018 (UTC) reply
