According to Jackson's normally reliable book (cited), p.135, the Sidecar came out of design work started by Blackburn in late 1918. Blackburn were a Leeds firm at this time, designing and building from the Olympia Works, Roundhay Road, so the assertion that it was designed in Scotland certainly needs a reliable source.
