The realm map on this page, though very nicely done, contains some major inaccuracies. For instance, Sulawesi is classified as Indo-Malay when it should be Australasian. I'm looking into fixing it, but meanwhile not sure how to flag this -- would it be appropriate to note on the main page that it is in error? Sharp11 ( talk) 03:00, 10 November 2008 (UTC) Never mind, I found a drop-in replacement that is accurate and up-to-date. Sharp11 ( talk) 04:26, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
The position of Sulawesi and the rest of Wallacea is debatable and the boundary between the Autralasian and Indo-Malay (Oriental Regions) depends on whether you use Wallace's Line or Lydekker's Line. More troubling for me is the suggestion that the Afrotropical realms extends into Iran, something I have not seen anywhere else, and the curious boundary in southern China, which again I cannot find in any other map. The map claims to be based on Udvardy (1975) but it clearly isn't. Where was it sourced? It is a little worrying as this map appears very high in any search for zoogeographic realms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.205.241.176 ( talk) 21:25, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
