Amusingly, Billy seems in this story to have developed speech mannerisms more commonly associated with a slightly older and genuinely super-powered hero from the other side of the Atlantic, also a famous wall-crawler. Beano no 1290 dated April 8th 1967 says "... William's parents had both been in the police force and had been killed when a gang of criminals had forced their car over a cliff. Ever since then William had carried on his parents' fight against crime as Billy the Cat."
