I have just added an article on a contemporary of Billy Goodwin - Bill Goodwin (Welsh footballer). There are some clear references to his early career in Wales, and spells with Oldham and Crewe; 'Billy' is a forward while 'Bill' is a defender, so they are clearly two different players. However, both articles (and possibly the sources they use) make assertions about Congleton and Mossley that appear to confuse one with the other. Paul W ( talk) 13:09, 11 May 2017 (UTC) reply
