The article is named Bill Freund, so we know he was called Bill. The Wikipedia manual of style says do not include common nicknames that are well known variants of the name. The example they use is do not put Bill in quotes with William. John Pack Lambert ( talk) 11:55, 10 August 2022 (UTC) reply
