The contents of the Bhartrhari's paradox page were merged into Bhartṛhari on 10 March 2019. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page. |
Is this article about two people? There seem to be Bhartṛhari the grammarian, Bhartṛhari the philosopher-poet, and Bharthari the king's brother. Shreevatsa ( talk) 16:26, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
it may be exaggerated to disambiguate here. The best approach might be to keep three articles,
Vākyapadīya on the grammatical work,
Śatakatraya on the poetical work, and
Bhartṛhari on the date and authorship question. --

Apparently a commentary to Patanjali's Mahabhasya is also attributed to Bhartrhari. This is a very obscure text apparently received only via a single incomplete ms. and it is rather questionable how seriously this "attribution" is to be taken. The piece of information was inserted by Thrasuboula ( talk · contribs), who seems to have good access to Bhartrhari-related info, but who does not seem to have a good grasp of how to arrange information relative to its relevance. The same user wrote the rather eccentric article " Bhartrhari's paradox" which basically reports the existence of a 1981 research paper. -- dab (𒁳) 09:21, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
