The Cardiff Council 1999 election results give the name of the Independent Butetown councillor as Rachel Campbell. Was Betty Campbell's real name Rachel? There's no mention of this in any of the recent obituaries or news articles.

There's a Rachel E Johnson birth registered in Cardiff in the December quarter of 1934, according the the General Register Office transcriptions on FreeBMD. Mother's maiden name O'Leary. I dislike original research like this, but it suggests Betty's birth name may have been Rachel Elizabeth Johnson.

In fact the Cardiff Council record of the 2004 election[1] (where she was the losing candidate) give her full name as Rachel Elizabeth Campbell. All things considered I would say that was sufficient proof.
