The PC-12 crashed in Holy Cross Cemetary 500 feet from the airport, not the runway. This cemetery is not located on the approaches to either runway. The closest airport facilities to Holy Cross Cemetery is a taxiway and the terminal and the south corner of the terminal building is about 500 feet from the north fence of the cemetery. I have changed this to "...500 feet from the airport." This morning an AP article said "...Not far from the airport..." [1] and Reuters said "...on final approach..." [2] However, I believe the plane was on the downwind leg and not final. Also the final death toll was 14 as listed in the above references. I also used the name of the cemetery. I would have to assume these "breaking news" points often change quite frequently as things develop. Traumatic ( talk) 14:09, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Good edit.....Where it crashed was West of the runway basically paralell to it. Just from the pics and knowing that cemetery due to family being buried there it kinda made me curious how a plane go to that point, it's not near final approach and way off course in the landing pattern. I think it was alot further from where it the 500 feet listed...From what it looks like to me it landed near Evel Knievel's family tomb (only tomb in the cemetery so it's easy to spot) and that itself is about 50-75 yards from the North fence.. -- seattlehawk94 ( talk) 05:19, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
