"Sati" [sic]

"Sati" is called suttee in standard English.

So, was this act really called "Sati Regulation XVII A. D. 1829"? Or was it the "Suttee Regulation XVII"?

The spelling "Hindu" is also an anachronism here; it should be Hindoo.

Is it possible to have the actual text of the Regulation without these alterations? Thanks, Varlaam ( talk) 04:30, 3 July 2012 (UTC) reply
