Any guidance for this kind of articles (XXX university)? --
ILovEJPPitoC 12:42, 17 Oct 2003 (UTC)
Some of this may need merged into article (from a lower case version of page):
Beijing Institute of Technology(BIT) was founded in Yanan in 1940. In the past 60 years, BIT has made great contributions to the revolutionary wars, national defense and socialist constructions in the spirit of "Unity, Diligence, Practicality, and Innovation".
In recent yers, with in-depth educational reform and opening to the outside world, especially through implementation of the "211 Project", BIT has formulted a comprehensive academic disciplinary system and achieved a historical advancement in its overall academic level. For a long time BIT has been one of the national key universities receiving privileged state investment. Since its founding, BIT has turned out more than 70,000 first-rate specialists and accomplished over 1,000 research projects. Out of its 3,500 faculty and staff members, there is 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 5 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 107 supervisors for Ph.D.students, 331 professors, and 798 associate professors. The total student number amounts to 18,122, of whom 2,867 are graduate students. The major campus has an area of 829,000 square meters, with a floor space of 602,000 square meters and a fixed asset of 630 million RMB. BIT has now become a multi-disciplinary university of engineering, science, management, humanities, economics, law, and pedagogy. While maintaining its great strength in engineering, it pays great attention to the balanced development of other disciplines. BIT ranks among the first-class universities for its high educational and research quality, strong faculty teams, and academic programs with distinctive characteristics.
Time flies and 60 years has elapsed. BIT has achieved tremendous successes, with its graduates working in all walks of life both at home and abroad. Facing the new millenium, and endowed with the historic mission of revitalizing China through science and education, BIT is marching on its way to building itself into a domestically first-class and internationally well-known university. The current article tells us that BIT was called Yan'an University (延安大学) until 1988.
That was NOT TRUE, but i have no time to correct that now :(
and i am wondering why only the 60981 website is there

As part of the WikiProject Universities COTF efforts, I will attempt to translate the BIT article in the Chinese Wikipedia and add relevant information into this article. Since there are many irregularities and discrepancies between the Chinese Wikipedia article and information found on this article, I will try to make sure that the revised information will be correct, however, if you do find 3rd party sources (other than the BIT website) that contradicts or updates information that I am translating, please feel free to update the figures/facts as needed. - Jameson L. Q1. Is the chinese degree valid in India? Do we have to appear for any tests after having the degree in science for validation? Q2. Will the students from amity be provided the same hostels as the other students? Q3. Availability of Indian/veg food in hostels? Kindly respond and make clear the above ambiguities asap..
